Some writing.

Hey everyone! I decided to go ahead and put some of my writing on here, not my books because I'm saving those for publication but this some random writing from some of my graduate classes. It might entertain you and give you a little sense of my writing! Update on my book; I'm waiting to hear back from a publication company. They've sent my manuscript to their team of editors but I still kind of feel like I want to self-publish. I'm too impatient to wait and hear if they like my book or not, I just want it out there! But we will see, I'm going to give it another couple weeks and then I may just jump the gun and publish. I'm over half way done with my second book and I am LOVING it. It's been a thrill to write, and it's turning out to have more twists and turns than I ever expected. Here is some writing for your entertainment! Enjoy and thanks for reading!! This one is called "Lost"- we had to write about an object/thing (tangible or not)

Guess what?!

Ah!!!!!! <-- That is supposed to indicated my excitement. I have finished my book! Like, I re-read it and fixed some minor grammatical errors (for some reason when I write, I leave words out. It's like my mind works too fast for my fingers, haha!) and it's done! I'm so excited, I wish I could express how excited I am. I have sent it to a few friends, to read and I am anxiously waiting for their remarks. I had one friend say "I'm mad at you for being so good at writing, it's not fair". Which made my heart smile. I also sent in part of my first chapter for one of my Grad classes to my professor (who has written four novels, and has been featured in Publisher's Weekly) and she loved it! She said she wanted to read more, and she gave me great advice on getting a literary agent! I feel like you guys (to those of you who actually read my blog) are following my dreams right along with me. It is my DREAM to be a writer. I really, really want to spend my d

Re-reading books?

Helloooo book lovers! It's been too long since I've posted a blog but I am SO busy between being a mama, wife (to a hubby who works insane, long hours), and grad school.. oh AND writing/editing my book, it barely leaves time to blog. But I'm making time right now as I lay beside my sleeping toddler, about to fall asleep myself. Okay, first things first... go pick up a copy of Abbi Gline's "Boy South of the Mason Dixon" and start reading. This book rocked my soul. I didn't think I would fall in love with it because I normally don't like when a character has interest in more than one guy, and that was the vibe I got from the synopsis BUT it wasn't what I thought it was. It was amazing. I'm just going to leave it at that. Oh, and Asher is up there with my other "book boyfriends". Also, do y'all like to re-read books? I normally don't. I usually hate it because I already know what's going to happen but I just re-read a Co

Need an easy read?

Do y'all ever just want an easy read? Or do you typically stick to those gut-wrenching, page-turning books? I find my self jumping back and forth. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something really deep, something that's going to make me really think about whats going on in the book. Then other times, I'm just looking for something on a calmer note, something to I can read to take my mind off of my hectic day. A few months ago, I read the "Court of Thorns and Roses" book series, by Sarah J. Maas and I was completely captivated by the writing. It became one of my favorite series. I plan to get her books in hardback and place them on my book shelf, right beside my Harry Potter books--that's how good they were! But lately, I've been wanting easy reads...which is why I chose to read "Finding Sydney" by Angela Corbett. It was a good read, but like I said, it was an easy read. I wouldn't recommend this book to someone who wanted a thrilling, page

I'm new here!

Seriously, the title says it all. I'm a newbie. I'm new to blogging, I'm new to writing (sort of). The one thing I'm not new to, is reading. I love reading . I've been an avid reader since...well, forever. It's how I became so infatuated with writing. I started writing years ago, but I just recently became serious about it. I've written a book, yep. An entire book!! No, I haven't published it yet...but soon, my friends. Soon! I decided to start up this cute, little blog so I can start stepping foot into the "in crowd" before I actually publish. I need readers! I need people who are interested in helping a first time author get in the groove . Okay, that sounds a little silly...but you guys get the picture. I also want to start talking about all sorts of other books on this blog! Not just mine (when I actually do publish it). Even though I spend most of my free time writing...I still read. I love reading. It's kind of my stress reliever...
