Need an easy read?

Do y'all ever just want an easy read? Or do you typically stick to those gut-wrenching, page-turning books? I find my self jumping back and forth. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something really deep, something that's going to make me really think about whats going on in the book. Then other times, I'm just looking for something on a calmer note, something to I can read to take my mind off of my hectic day. A few months ago, I read the "Court of Thorns and Roses" book series, by Sarah J. Maas and I was completely captivated by the writing. It became one of my favorite series. I plan to get her books in hardback and place them on my book shelf, right beside my Harry Potter books--that's how good they were! But lately, I've been wanting easy reads...which is why I chose to read "Finding Sydney" by Angela Corbett.

It was a good read, but like I said, it was an easy read. I wouldn't recommend this book to someone who wanted a thrilling, page-turning romance novel but more so if someone wanted an easy, love story between two amazing characters. I would probably read something like this on a beach for vacation. But overall, it was a great read!

I just started a new book a few nights ago. That's what I do when my sweet, book-loving toddler finally goes to bed. Reading helps end my day on a calmer note! Anyway, I started an Abbi Glines novel. Have you ever read Abbi Glines?! If not, go get one of her books and start reading immediately!! She is an amazing author. I love every one of her books. The one I'm reading now is called "Boys South of the Mason Dixon", and oh my goodness y'all...it is so good!! I am dying to turn the pages! I'll be sure to write a better review after I finish the book, which shouldn't take me too much longer because I can't seem to put it down!

Oh, and P.S.- I am ALMOST finished editing my current book, for the third time. I think I'll be self publishing in a month or two, I hope you all take a chance on a first time author and choose to read my book! It's one that is dear and near to my heart.

Time Hasn't Stopped

Interesting, title? I couldn't decide what to name this little excerpt that I had to write for one of my classes. It was extremely difficult because it's not like my typical writing. I  always write in a first person point of view but we had to write in a third person point of view and we had many other obstacles to figure out. For example, we couldn't use the word "feels" which might not seem that hard but it is. We had to use the setting, props, and gestures to show the readers what the characters are feeling and it had to be between a husband and wife; which once again is nothing similar to what I normally write but I'll upload it for you guys to read, anyway. It was interesting to write, and I'm really sad today because I can't revise my second book instead, I have to finish Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen for one of my literature classes (insert eye roll here). I haven't titled this yet.

Why is it so hard for me to title my short stories? My book that is soon to be published is titled "Just Maybe" and my second book, which I think  I finished yesterday, is titled "Just Something". It's so easy for me to title my novels, but my short stories or even those little, tiny excerpts that I upload...those are so hard for me to title. I don't know why, maybe because they are only around 1,000 words and compared to my 50,000+ word novels, that's kind of short and hard to pick any strong word/phrases. I titled my book "Just Maybe" because it is a huge part in the novel, and same with "Just Something".  It's amazing how I thought 1,000 words was a lot and now I'm writing over 50,000 words for my novels!  **This is kind of a spoiler.
